>The Artillerist Manual (Reprint), John Gibbons. Tactics and usage of artillery during the Civil War, this book was originally published in 1860

>Artillery Drill Manual (Reprint), Board of Officers. One of the official drill manuals from the Civil War period and the one used by Cushing's
Battery.

>Hardtack and Coffee, John D. Billings. An excellent book about life in the army during the Civil War. The author was in an artillery unit.

>The Civil War Collectors Encyclopedia, 5 vols. Frances Lord. An excellent book for collectors and reenactors, it shows much of the equipment
used by the military during the period.

>Also, the movie Gettysburg gives a good account of the Battle of Gettysburg including Picket’s Charge and the Angle and the movies Gods and
Generals and Glory show many insights into military life at the time.
