concerning safety in reenacting.
Even above authenticity, the major concern of all reenactors is safety. No matter what
side, branch or unit reenactors portray, they are all aware of the fact that the hobby as
a whole can be dangerous and must take measures to avoid accidents at all costs. The
Artillery is probably the most dangerous of the branches but the other branches have
their own dangers.
Having served my 18 years of reenacting in the Artillery, I can quote artillery safety in
my sleep (and sometimes do, according to my wife), but I know much less about the
other branches. So I ask any other reenactors from any branch to submit articles to this
page. It is my belief that the more you know, the better off you are.
Lets all try to make Civil War Reenacting safe.
